Interview With Kevin ...

Kevin Interviewing Me ...

Practicing with the 7D camera ...

In this interview with Kevin I was the one asking questions. I have . had much previous experience with this from practicing with this last year (always being the interviewer). I really do enjoy interviewing people. I tried to make the situation as comfortable fro Kevin as I could, considering it was only his first or second time being interviewed. I kept his questions simple so it would be easy for him to answer. The actual video definitely had to be color corrected because it was raw. I did not spend a lot of time correcting it. I basically just tried different saturations to make it more life like. One issue I had was with the sound because I messed up with the position of the mic!

In this interview, it was my turn to be on camera. Even though I took cinema all of last year, I still do not feel comfortable on camera. I think that I have made a lot of improvements from last year however I still have a lot more to improve. I thought that I felt slightly more confident on camera and able to answer questions more honestly than in my interview from the first time I took this class.  I want to work towards wanting to be on camera! I thought that Kevin did a great job interviewing by being clear with questions and giving me time to answer the questions.

I got the chance to work with the 7D this week and just play around with different effects. I mainly focused on trying to do cool blurring effects. I like the look of having it out of focus and then slowly bringing it into focus on the subject with the background still blurred. I am still working on that though! I also worked with using different ISO levels to change the perception of the video. I liked in one of the videos I played around with walking though a puddle and having a darker ISO because it brought more depth into the puddle.  I want to practice with using something like a candle and having it blurred and then focusing onto that with the light. I think that would look really cool and useful for future films.
